What is the role of genotypes and impact of green tea intervention in the protection against smoking related oxidative stress damages

Iman HakimProf Iman Hakim from the University of Arizona Health Sciences, Tucson, USA will give a presentation related to green tea intervention for protection against smoking related oxidative damage among smokers: role of genotypes during the 3rd ISANH Middle East Antioxidants World Congress which will be held on May 2-3, 2018 in Amman, Jordan.

A 4-month, randomized, controlled, tea intervention trial among heavy smokers was performed by Prof. Hakim's team. The GST, hOGG1 and XRCC1 genotypes were determined and Prof. Hakim's team were interested in whether there were differences in increased oxidative stress susceptibility to smoking within the different genotypes and the impact of high tea drinking on this. The results of this study will be presented in Amman.
