Role of Pentoxifylline, a Potent Antioxidant Drug, in Human Sperm Function

Saleem Ali Bani Hani Pentoxifylline, an antioxidant drug used to treat peripheral vascular diseases, is currently used in assisted-reproductive technology laboratories to increase the rate of fertilization by enhancing sperm motility, especially for asthenozoospermic semen samples. Here, we investigated certain mechanisms by which pentoxifylline induces such beneficial effect to sperm.
